Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?

Please go to the “‘booking info” page and use the link to send in an appointment request form. I will respond with a text to schedule within 7 days, (usually sooner!) A $100 deposit will be taken to confirm your appointment when a date is selected

What do you take for payment?

Cash is preferred and we do have an atm available, but I can also take Venmo, Paypal, or Cashapp if needed. I do not have a card reader

Do you have a shop minimum?

Yes, it is $100

Can I see my design ahead of time?

Unless we are working on a large project I do not send designs ahead of time. I understand that it can feel nerve wracking to not see your tattoo design beforehand, but there are a few important reasons for this process-

  1. I dedicate my full attention to the clients I have scheduled each week, ensuring they receive the best possible experience. I draw before and after shop hours, so time simply doesn’t allow for me to prepare additional designs far in advance.

  2. Efficiency. Last minute cancellations or idea changes happen, and are ok! But creating designs too early can result in wasted effort.

  3. It is not unheard of for individuals who have received a design ahead of time to take it to another shop, or price shop with other artists

  4. My goal is to gather all relevant information during the booking process to fully understand your vision and ensure the design is exactly what you want. But I always schedule extra time on the day of your appointment to discuss and adjust the design as needed, and to alleviate rushing and pressure.

What if I want to make changes to the design?

Totally fine! Your tattoo is on your body forever, and I want you to love it. I’m happy to make any adjustments or changes when you come in.

What is your reschedule/cancellation policy?

Your $100 deposit holds your spot and comes off the cost of your tattoo when you come in, but it is non-refundable. However it can be moved/rescheduled one time with at least 24 hour notice.

**Deposits are refundable if there is some extenuating circumstance/emergency on my end that would require me to cancel, this is a very rare occurrence but I will always make it right with you.

You can cancel/reschedule your appt via the Calendly confirmation link you received in your email when booking, but if you are giving less than 24 hour notice please shoot me a text at (910) 386-1783. If you are giving less than 24 hour notice, your deposit is forfeited and you will need to put down another deposit to rebook.

No call/no shows automatically forfeit any deposits, and will not be a priority for me to rebook.

Please let me know if you are running more than 10 min late to your appointment, you can send me a text at (910) 386-1783.

Do you do walk-in or same day appointments?

I typically do book my schedule pretty full, but sometimes I have cancellations or small bits of time for tiny tattoos. You can always text me to check the day of at (910) 386-1783, or click here to add yourself to my cancellation list, I will notify you if I get any last minute openings that align with your availability

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, I have the space to accommodate one guest, please no children under the age of 15.

I’m a minor, can I get a tattoo with parent permission?

No, NC law forbids tattooing anyone under the age of 18- regardless of permission.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring your ID. If it’s going to be a long session feel free to bring a drink/snack and entertainment if you’d like- headphones, book, iPad etc. We do have an atm, but the shop is currently cash-only so if you want to avoid the atm fee I would recommend bringing it with you. For info on what clothing to bring or wear- see the “prep & aftercare” section

Will it hurt? Do you use numbing cream?

Tattoos don’t feel great, but every spot on the body is different & it also depends on your individual pain tolerance- most people find that it is not as bad as they worked it up to be. The first 15-20 minutes are typically the worst. Think of it this way- if tattoos were excruciating you wouldn’t see so many people walking around covered in them!

I do not use numbing cream, and it’s not recommended, especially if you’re getting a fine line tattoo as it can potentially affect the way in which your skin takes ink. BUT if you do want to use it- that’s fine with me. However- you will be responsible for purchasing and applying it. Please do not buy numbing cream off of Amazon or EBay as there are too many unregulated and dangerous fakes. Purchase off of a reputable website or tattoo supply site so you know 100% what you’re putting on your skin. And make sure to read the directions- many of them require you to apply and cover several hours before your appointment time. I can clean it off for you before we apply the stencil.

What if I have a needle phobia and sometimes pass out?

This is not uncommon so don’t be embarrassed, but please let me know before we start the tattoo. Often times laying you down (so you’re not watching) and having snacks/distractions available are useful. If it’s your first tattoo, I recommend that you start with something very small that can be finished quickly if you’re not feeling well. We can take breaks as needed, but most of the time it passes after the first few minutes!
